Lompoc

With the landscape mostly golden brown, the fields of Lompoc were a feast for the eyes. Lompoc is the mekka for flower seed production and even at this time of the year, there were still fields in vivid color.

Solvang, Lompoc and surrounding area

Driving through the wine and horse country around Solvang, this mother and son came up to me to check me out. This is definitely horse country with lots of them in beautiful large pasture.

Wine harvest was almost over everywhere and autumn fog hung over the hills and mountains.

With the cooler autumn days, the bees decided it was easier to snack on the feeder than looking for flowers.
